Thought the pipeline was dead? So did we.

However, reports from both Grist and 350.org show that the pipeline is very much still alive, as US Senators are rushing to force President Obama to accept the pipeline. The pipeline is being proposed as a "rider" to an already existing transportation bill so that the President may have no choice but to pass it. But today, environmental organizations are rallying to submit over half a million petition responses to the Senate in just 24 hours to voice disapproval of the Keystone XL Pipeline. Keystone XL is the US & Canada continent-spanning pipeline that will transport dirty tar sands oil from Alberta, Canada to the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, creating numerous environmental threats to citizens and wildlife alike.
