In addition to fighting the endangered species trade, WildAid works with a series of partner organizations to identify species that may not yet be declared endangered by the UN but that are considered by scientific and conservation communities to be critically threatened. WildAid works to create mass public awareness of threatened species and in some cases, helps governments work through the UN's Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) to grant protected or endangered status to critically threatened species. WildAid's key partner in this work is the London-based Environmental Justice Foundation.
WildAid has conducted its campaigns in Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, China, Hong Kong and South America.
